Drill Fitter

About the Company

Hays Mining & Resources are currently seeking an experienced Drill Fitter for a long-term FIFO opportunity with a leading mining contractor operating in Western Australia. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a stable contract through to April 2027, working on a fleet of CAT MD6250 and MD6310 drills in a predominantly field service capacity.

About the Role

• Maintaining and repairing CAT MD6250 and MD6310 drill rigs
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical faults
• Changing feed cylinders
• Removing and replacing drill booms
• Conducting scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
• Responding to breakdowns across site
• Ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reporting

What you'll need to succeed

• Australian Trade Certificate III in Heavy Diesel or equivalent heavy mobile plant qualification
• Strong experience working on CAT MD6250 and MD6310 drill rigs
• Minimum 4-5 years' hands-on CAT drill maintenance experience
• Current C Class Manual Driver's Licence
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities
• Ability to work independently in a field service environment
• Commitment to safe work practices

Qualifications & Certifications

• Australian Trade Certificate III in Heavy Diesel
• Equivalent heavy mobile plant qualification
• C Class Manual Driver's Licence
