Diesel Fitters - Eva Copper

Working in a strategic Alliance with Thiess and Harmony, you will form part of a collaborative team, driven by shared objectives and values to deliver operational excellence at the Eva Copper Mine Project.

The Alliance will set new benchmarks for safe, sustainable and efficient copper development, supported by commitments to local employment and procurement, new-to-industry and Indigenous workforce development and meaningful engagement in the local community.

The Eva Copper Mine Project is located on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon People in North West Queensland, approximately 75 km north-west of Cloncurry and about 95 km north-east of Mount Isa.

The Project is an iron-oxide copper-gold resource featuring multiple open pits and is poised to become the largest greenfield copper mine in Queensland.

The opportunity:

Are you an experienced and motivated Diesel Fitter with a passion for adventure? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Diesel Fitters to join our high-performing team at the Eva Copper Mine Project, in the Cloncurry region of Queensland, Australia.

As a key member of the Eva Copper Alliance team, you’ll be responsible for supporting safe, efficient production across our fleet while working with a high-performing maintenance team.

Roster: 2:2 | Location: Eva Copper | Employment Type: Fulltime

As the Diesel Fitter, you will:

• Work safely and comply with the Site Safety Health and Management System.
• Maintain, repair and service on a variety of mobile plant equipment safely and efficiently in line with Thiess and Industry standards
• Excellent diagnostic, fault finding, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills
• Be highly motivated and committed to deliver quality results.
• Follow work instructions and complete all paperwork to a high standard.
• Ensure good housekeeping standards are always maintained ensuring a safe work environment.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you are required to have:

• Current Drivers Licence
• Valid Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting or equivalent
• Post-trade experience working in the mining environment
• Experience in General Maintenance, Breakdowns, Component Change Outs and Servicing of Heavy Earth Moving Equipment
• Have a good work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement, be able to work as an individual within the maintenance team
