Diesel Fitter - Power Generation

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Diesel Fitter / Heavy Diesel Mechanic with proven power generation experience to join a remote operation in WA. If you know your engines, enjoy fault finding and have experience keeping power generation equipment running reliably, this could be a great opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• The Role You’ll be responsible for the maintenance and reliability of power generation equipment, including:
  • Routine and breakdown maintenance
  • Engine servicing, repairs and rebuilds
  • Fault finding and diagnostics
  • Troubleshooting power generation systems
  • Control system testing
  • General mechanical and electrical maintenance
  • Parts management and maintenance reporting
  • Responding to breakdowns when required
  • Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment

What you’ll need

• Mechanical / Heavy Diesel Fitting trade qualification
• 2+ years post-trade experience
• Proven power generation experience – essential
• Strong diesel engine diagnostics and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with stationary engines/generators
• Remote or FIFO experience highly regarded
• Current Australian driver’s licence
• National Police Clearance
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical

Highly regarded

• Gas engine/gas system experience
• CAT, Cummins, Jenbacher, Wartsila or similar
• Engine rebuild experience
• Working at Heights / Confined Space
• Forklift or other relevant tickets
