MacKellar is seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters and Plant Mechanics to join our maintenance team at Middlemount Mine. The Role
Working as part of a skilled maintenance team, you'll play a key role in keeping a large fleet of mining equipment operating safely and efficiently. You'll carry out planned maintenance, respond to breakdowns and contribute to maximising fleet availability across the operation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing faults and completing mechanical repairs
- Carrying out component change-outs, rebuilds and overhauls
- Attending equipment breakdowns and minimising downtime
- Inspecting equipment and identifying maintenance improvements
- Completing maintenance records and required documentation
- Working closely with operations and fellow maintenance personnel
- Maintaining a strong commitment to safety and site procedures
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Fitter or Plant Mechanic
- Demonstrated post-trade experience in mining, civil or heavy industry
- Experience maintaining heavy earthmoving or mining equipment
- Current Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical, or the ability to obtain
- Current Queensland Driver's Licence
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- A proactive approach to safety, teamwork and quality workmanship
