Job Description
MacKellar is currently recruiting skilled Diesel Fitters and Plant Mechanics to join our established maintenance team based in Blackwater. This is a permanent, workshop-based opportunity working on a modern fleet of heavy earthmoving equipment within a professional, safety-driven mining environment.

Your Key Duties:
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and component replacements on heavy mobile equipment
- Conduct diagnostics, fault finding, and breakdown response
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks
- Carry out overhauls and workshop-based repairs
- Follow established maintenance systems, procedures, and safety standards
- Deliver work on time, safely, and to a high standard
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop
Skills and Experience:
- Trade qualification: Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter, Plant Mechanic, or LV Fitter/Mechanic
- Post-trade experience in mining or heavy industry
- Experience maintaining heavy earthmoving equipment highly regarded
- Strong fault-finding and preventative maintenance skills
- Current Queensland Driver’s Licence
- Safety-focused and team-oriented
- Pride in quality workmanship and maintaining equipment to high standards
