About the Role

Secure a permanent position within MacKellar's well-established and growing maintenance team at our Blackwater Workshop.
As a Diesel Fitter, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of heavy earthmoving equipment while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing machine maintenance, including component replacements, overhauls and general repairs
• Completing fault finding, diagnostics and preventative maintenance servicing
• Conducting daily refuelling and equipment inspections
• Executing planned repairs within required timeframes and cost requirements
• Following procedure-based preventative maintenance systems
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and contributing to practical solutions
• Working effectively both independently and as part of the maintenance team

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A relevant trade qualification as a Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter, Plant Mechanic or LV Fitter/Mechanic
• Post-trade experience within the mining industry
• Proven experience working on heavy earthmoving equipment in a workshop environment
• A current Queensland Driver Licence
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• A strong work ethic and commitment to safe work practices
• The ability to work independently and contribute positively to a team environment
