Monadelphous is seeking an experienced Design & Technical Services Manager to lead the design, technical assurance and asset improvement functions for a major power generation facility. Operating on a 2:1 FIFO roster, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership across plant modifications, engineering design, technical governance and continuous improvement initiatives that support the long-term reliability and performance of the facility.

This role will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical specialists, ensuring engineering solutions are fit-for-purpose, compliant and aligned with operational requirements.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Lead the Design & Technical Services team, providing technical leadership and governance across the facility.
• Oversee engineering design reviews, technical studies and plant modification projects.
• Manage the development and implementation of technical standards, engineering procedures and asset integrity frameworks.
• Ensure engineering designs and modifications comply with relevant legislation, codes, standards and client requirements.
• Provide specialist technical support to operations, maintenance and project delivery teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on asset performance, reliability and operational efficiency.
• Manage technical investigations, root cause analyses and engineering risk assessments.
• Coordinate external engineering consultants and technical service providers as required.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators and key stakeholders.
• Manage budgets, resources and engineering priorities within the technical services function.

What you’ll bring:

• Degree qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Chemical or related Engineering discipline.
• Extensive experience in power generation, oil & gas, energy, utilities or heavy industrial environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering design, technical services or asset improvement teams.
• Strong understanding of engineering governance, technical assurance and risk management principles.
• Experience managing plant modifications, technical investigations and capital improvement projects.
• Sound knowledge of Australian engineering standards and statutory compliance requirements.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Proven leadership capability with experience managing multidisciplinary teams
