Protech is recruiting Painter / Blasters for ongoing full‑time work at Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (DBCT).
This is a local Mackay/Sarina opportunity offering long‑term security and lifestyle balance.
Why You’ll Want This Role
- $51.55 base rate plus penalties or choose a casual option of $77.49 Flat rate dayshift and $89.12 Nightshift.
- Full‑time, ongoing contracts or casual options.
- Lifestyle roster plus additional shutdown roster (5/3) when required
- Home every night – local roles only
- Work at a coastal industrial site
- Weekly pay with salary sacrifice options
- Strong onsite support from a dedicated Account Manager and Admin team
The Work
You’ll be part of a high-performing team completing protective coating and structural maintenance works, including:
- Blasting and painting of steel infrastructure and structures
- Setting up work areas to safely execute tasks
- Steel fabrication and coating to site specifications
- Delivering quality work while maintaining safety and compliance standards
What We’re After
- Experience in industrial painting and blasting (Trade qualification desirable)
- Happy to consider spray painting experience with upskilling opportunties for the right candidate
- 2 + years abrasive blasting and painting experience (highly regarded)
- Familiar with epoxy coatings application including airless spray pump and conventional spray experience
- Ports or Mining Experience (desirable)
- Shutdown experience (highly regarded)
- White Card (Construction Induction)
- Working at Heights ticket or willingness to obtain
- Ability to obtain an MSIC
- Current driver’s licence
- Full Australian working rights
- Confined Space and Gas Test Atmospheres tickets (desirable)
- Mackay local or Sarina residents (no accommodation provided)
