Your new company
Our client is among the world’s top producers of major commodities including iron ore, metallurgical coal, copper, and uranium. They extract and process minerals, oil and gas from its production operations located primarily in Australia and the Americas.
Your new role
- Operating diamond cutter saws to prepare core samples for further processing
- Measuring a wide range of material properties of drilled core in preparation for further laboratory work, including:
- The specific gravity of core samples
- The magnetic susceptibility of drilled core
- Hardness tests on drilled core
- Marking orientation details in preparation for cutting
- Preparing samples for dispatch
- Photographing core and uploading to the database
- Maintaining and adhering to safety standards
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed with the position, you will have:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively outdoors
- Great attitude and willingness to learn
- A forklift licence is advantageous but not essential.
- Previous experience is advantageous but not essential.
What you'll get in return
This role comes with an attractive 8/6 FIFO roster (12-hour days) with flights and accommodation included and an excellent starting rate.
