Job Description
Working on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth (Monday to Monday), you'll be supporting a high-volume underground drilling program.
This is a production-focused role rather than exploration logging, with your primary responsibility being to ensure all core is logged and processed efficiently to meet operational requirements. You'll work closely with Core Yard Technicians, assisting with core processing activities including core orientation, metre marking, specific gravity (SG) measurements, magnetic susceptibility (MagSus), photography and sampling.
The operation is currently running two underground diamond rigs, generating approximately 250m of core per day, all of which must be logged and processed within a 24-hour period.
To be successful, you'll have:
- A degree in Geology or a related discipline* Previous diamond core logging experience, preferably within a gold production environment* Strong understanding of lithological, alteration and structural logging* Experience with core orientation and metre marking* The ability to work efficiently in a high-volume logging environment* Strong attention to detail and geological record-keeping* A current C class manual driver's licence.
