Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
We’re looking for a passionate and community-focused individual to join our VTEC Team.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in the training and development, and long-term success of our VTEC program. You’ll work closely with trainees, leaders, and communities to create meaningful pathways, provide culturally informed support, and help individuals thrive both personally and professionally.
Reporting to the Manager - VTEC you will support participants from Fortescue’s VTEC program through recruiting, mentoring, and training. You’ll also contribute to the design and delivery of high-quality training and initiatives that create real, lasting outcomes.
This role is hands-on and people-focused, requiring strong relationships across teams, sites, and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and onboard VTEC trainees in a culturally safe manner
- Support the attraction, retention, and development of VTEC Trainees.
- Provide ongoing mentoring and case management for program participants
- Contribute to the development and delivery of culturally appropriate training and development programs
- Build strong, respectful relationships with internal stakeholders, leaders, Traditional Owners and community members
- Work collaboratively across multiple teams and sites to deliver impactful outcomes
- Maintain accurate and clear data utitlising internal matrix systems
Qualifications and Experience
- A genuine commitment to safety and alignment with Fortescue’s Values and culture
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and support others
- Strong recruitment and onboarding skills
- Successfactors experience.
- Experience in program coordination, community development, or a similar field
- Confidence using technology such as Microsoft Office and Teams
- The ability to manage competing priorities across teams and sites
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities
- A solid understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives
