Contracts Specialist – Mining Equipment

Your new company

Our client is a well-established mining and resources operator, supporting large scale regional operations and asset portfolios. Due to increased demand within their commercial and contracts function, they are seeking an experienced Contracts Advisor to join their Brisbane-based team on an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension.

Your new role

As the Contracts Advisor, you will support end-to-end contract management across a diverse portfolio of operational services, with a particular focus on earth moving equipment and site-based services. Working closely with operational, technical and commercial stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring effective contract execution, supplier performance and value delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing end-to-end contract performance across Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers
• Overseeing contracts across categories including earth moving equipment, crane and lifting services, fire systems and other operational services
• Monitoring supplier performance against KPIs, SLAs and commercial terms
• Managing contract variations, extensions and commercial negotiations
• Supporting operational teams to resolve contract and supplier-related issues
• Identifying and driving cost optimisation and value improvement initiatives
• Ensuring compliance with internal governance, safety and procurement standards
• Supporting risk management across contractor performance and contractual exposure
• Maintaining accurate contract documentation and reporting

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will bring:

• Demonstrated experience in contract management or procurement within mining, resources or heavy industry environments
• Exposure to earth moving equipment and/or mobile equipment services highly desirable
• Strong experience managing Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers in an operational setting
• Proven capability in contract commercial management, negotiation and stakeholder engagement
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across site and corporate stakeholders
• High attention to detail and strong commercial acumen
