Contracts & Commercial Specialist – Middlemount Mine

We are seeking a Contracts & Commercial Specialist to support project delivery at our Middlemount mine site, driving value creation across contracts, cost control, and commercial performance.
About the Role
Reporting to the Contracts Manager, this site-based role plays a key part in supporting project performance through effective contract administration, cost management, and commercial analysis. You will work closely with Project Managers, Finance, and client representatives to ensure accurate reporting, strong commercial governance, and continuous improvement across project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse project performance to identify key value drivers and improve commercial outcomes
- Support estimating, cost control, forecasting, and financial tracking across projects
- Assist with monthly project reviews, claims, variations, and reporting
- Compile and manage monthly claims and contract deliverables
- Provide commercial and contractual support to site teams
- Liaise directly with clients regarding budgets, costs, and contract matters
- Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives across projects
About You
You are commercially minded, detail focused, and thrive in a dynamic site environment. You build strong working relationships and are confident engaging with both internal teams and client stakeholders.
You will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, finance, accounting or equivalent experience
- Experience in contract management (preferred, not essential)
- Strong capability in cost control, forecasting, and commercial analysis
- Previous mine site experience (highly regarded)
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
- A current QLD Class C Driver’s Licence
