Civmec is expanding its Commercial team to support the continued growth of our manufacturing and fabrication division. We are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to join our fabrication business unit in a division-wide, centralised role, supporting commercial and contractual outcomes across multiple fabrication packages, work fronts and stakeholder interfaces. This is where commercial meets the workshop floor.

You will be an integral team member in the broader fabrication management operation, providing centralised contract administration support, maintaining commercial discipline, and assisting with the management of contractual obligations, supplier and subcontractor engagement, variations, claims, reporting and records across the fabrication business unit. You will be supported by experienced commercial leadership while still having the opportunity to take ownership of key contract administration activities and develop a long-term career with Civmec.

The Role

The successful candidate will support the commercial and contract administration functions for the fabrication business unit, including but not limited to:

  • Support head contract and subcontract compliance, including the preparation, coordination and submission of notices, claims, contractual correspondence and other commercial documentation.
  • Assist with the administration, assessment and closeout of variations, extensions of time, remeasurement claims and other contract adjustments across fabrication packages.
  • Prepare and manage RFQ packages, supplier and subcontractor tendering, contract formation and related commercial documentation.
  • Administer supplier and subcontract packages, including payment claims, variation registers, correspondence, insurances, compliance documents and closeout records.
  • Support project teams, workshop personnel and commercial stakeholders with contract administration advice, record keeping and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with cost control, end of month reporting, cash flow inputs, liability reporting and client or internal commercial reports.
  • Maintain accurate contract registers, correspondence records and supporting documentation in accordance with Civmec standards and quality assurance requirements.
  • Work closely with operational teams to identify commercial risks, support recovery of entitlements and contribute to strong commercial outcomes.

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • We're looking for candidates with a combination of the following: Tertiary qualification in Law, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Contracts Management or a similar field is desirable.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a Contracts Administrator, Senior Contracts Administrator, Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role.
  • Previous experience within fabrication, manufacturing, construction or heavy engineering environments will be highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, variations, claims, subcontractor administration, procurement support, cost reporting and commercial record keeping.
  • Strong, clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
