Your New Role
We are seeking an experienced Radio Technician / Communications Technician to join a site-based mining operation on a 7/7 or 8/6 roster, FIFO from Townsville or Cairns.
This hands-on role will see you responsible for maintaining and improving the site's communications infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity across mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and support radio and communications systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot UHF/VHF radio networks
- Support leaky feeder communication systems
- Perform fault finding, repairs, and system optimisation
- Maintain CCTV and telephony (VoIP) systems
- Deliver infrastructure upgrades and commissioning activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and system records
- Respond to incidents and escalations as required
- Work closely with IT and operational teams to ensure seamless connectivity across site
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Trade qualification or demonstrated experience in Radio Communications, Telecommunications, Electronics, ICT, or similar
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Experience working with communications infrastructure in an industrial, mining, or commercial environment
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
Highly regarded:
- UHF/VHF radio systems experience
- Leaky feeder systems
- CCTV systems
- Telephony and VoIP systems
- Mining or remote-site experience
