UGL are seeking an experienced Commercial & Procurement Lead to join our team on an ongoing basis working on a major Oil & Gas project. Point of hire is Perth, WA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Control & Budgeting: Manage and oversee the project budget, ensuring that all expenditures align with the projects WBS & financial objectives.
  • Procurement Strategy: Lead and execute procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and administer contracts, ensuring favourable terms that align with project goals, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers and contractors, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Risk Management: Analyse and mitigate commercial risks associated with the contracts financial performance, procurement, subcontracting, and supplier performance.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of contract and commercial professionals, fostering collaboration across departments.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with corporate policies, local laws, and industry standards. Prepare regular progress reports for senior management.

About You

  • Proven experience in a contract / commercial lead role, ideally within the Oil & Gas construction sector as a main contractor performing SMP and/or E&I scope.
  • Strong understanding of construction project management, project controls, procurement processes, and commercial contracts.
  • Exceptional negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS) is a plus.
