Our client is a world‑leading testing, inspection, and certification company with a strong presence across Australia. In Wingfield, they operate a busy engineering and manufacturing facility supporting a range of industries.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join the team on a full‑time basis. Working with both manual and computer‑controlled equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC and manual metalworking machinery to manufacture components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, ensuring accuracy and quality in all machined parts.
- Perform fitting, maintenance, and general workshop duties as required to support operational needs.
- Complete product, repair, and inspection documentation in line with the Quality Management System and corporate policies.
- Maintain accurate records including job cards, time sheets, and month‑end invoicing information.
- Manage stock and steel control, and care for company gauges and measuring equipment.
- Undertake onsite training and upskilling to expand capabilities and meet client requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the broader team, maintaining excellent communication with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Comply with all safety procedures and safe work practices; wear required PPE and report any safety or equipment issues to management.
- Participate in shift work and overtime (including weekends) as required to meet operational demands.
About You / Requirements
- Trade Certificate in Engineering - Mechanical (Machining) or equivalent.
- Oilfield machining experience required.
- Strong experience in the operation and programming of CNC metalworking machinery within a customer‑focused manufacturing environment.
- Experience with manual metalworking machinery is also essential.
- Current forklift licence (large wheeled loader licence highly regarded).
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, and team members.
- Physically fit and able to meet the demands of the role.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Trade Certificate in Engineering - Mechanical (Machining) or equivalent.
- Forklift Licence (mandatory).
