About the Role

Due to an exciting expansion within our Corporate Technical Services Division, MinRes is seeking a passionate and technically driven Closure & Rehabilitation Advisor to join our growing Environment team, based at our Head Office in Perth. This is a genuine opportunity to shape and influence the way MinRes approaches mine closure and environmental rehabilitation. Reporting directly to our Closure Lead, you'll work across a diverse portfolio of projects spanning the full closure lifecycle, from early-stage baseline investigations and closure studies right through to on-ground rehabilitation execution. This is a dynamic role that will see you pivot across competing priorities and workstreams, requiring both technical sharpness and strong stakeholder management skills. You'll build meaningful working relationships and collaborate closely with a broad range of internal and external partners across the business and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and coordinating closure and rehabilitation projects across multiple workstreams, ensuring milestones and budgets are met.
  • Delivering high-quality closure studies and investigations, including sampling and analysis of mineral waste, soils, and contaminated sites.
  • Contributing to the development of Mine Closure Plans (MCPs) and Mining Development and Closure Proposals (MDCPs)
  • Providing technical input and quality assurance support to operational teams delivering on-ground rehabilitation works.
  • Supporting closure cost estimation and reporting of closure liability to internal stakeholders and the Board.
  • Engaging with Traditional Owners, regulators, and internal stakeholders on closure outcomes and post-mining land use.

About You

  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Geoscience, or Engineering (or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in environmental management within the mining sector, operational or consulting,
  • Experience in mine closure and/or environmental restoration (highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills, including drafting mine closure plans and scopes of work.
  • A sound understanding of environmental legislation and regulatory requirements applicable to mining.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skill- able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in GIS and/or mining software such as ArcGIS, Deswick, GEOVIA Surpac or Vulcan (highly desirable)
  • Committed to mine closure and rehabilitation, with a strong interest in achieving responsible, lasting environmental outcomes.
