Our Opportunity
Work Location: Hedland Operations- Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 8 days on / 6 days off – FIFO ex Perth or Residentially based in Port Hedland (relocation assistance offered)
Reporting to the Supervisor Civil Maintenance, we are seeking a safety-focused, self-motivated Civil Operator to join our Civil Infrastructure team at Hedland Operations.
In this full-time role, you’ll be responsible for the safe delivery of civil earthworks that support our Rail Infrastructure and Rail Maintenance Track network, helping to keep one of the world’s leading iron ore operations moving.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Put safety first, always complying with site and industry regulations.
- Demonstrate behaviours that align with The Fortescue Values.
- Complete pre-start checks, report defects, and maintain the safe, reliable operation of all plant.
- Safely and efficiently operate a range of mobile plant.
- Follow Supervisor instructions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Execute tasks to meet daily operational targets and business requirements.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with your team.
- Be flexible to work from various base camps along the rail network.
- Manage your time effectively to support operational priorities.
- Identify and communicate hazards in the workplace to support continuous safety improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ mobile plant operating experience, with relevant tickets.
- Civil earthworks experience (desirable).
- Valid WA Driver’s Licence.
- HR Driver’s Licence(MC licence desirable).
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
