Job Description
We’re looking for a commercially minded Civil Estimator to join our team in Perth, supporting tendering, project pricing, and commercial analysis across a diverse project portfolio.
This role is critical in ensuring accurate, competitive, and well-structured estimates that support project wins and business growth. You’ll work closely with operational teams and subject matter experts to develop cost models, review tenders, and identify cost efficiencies and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Tendering & Project Analysis
- Review tender documents, scope of work, and contract conditions
- Analyse opportunities and provide insights on project risks and benefits
- Maintain accurate pricing records and CRM (HubSpot) updates
Estimating & Cost Modelling
- Develop, refine, and maintain cost models for civil projects
- Prepare detailed estimates across earthworks, drainage, and civil infrastructure
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geotechnical data
Project & Site Engagement
- Attend site visits and tender meetings to assess scope, access, and conditions
- Collaborate with operational teams to validate cost assumptions
Commercial Support & Continuous Improvement
- Support repricing, variations, and cost-saving initiatives for active projects
- Review estimate accuracy against actual performance to improve models
- Contribute to consistent estimating practices across the business
About You
You are a detail-oriented and proactive Estimator who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Skills & Attributes
- Strong ability to interpret civil drawings and technical specifications
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement abilities
- Highly organised with excellent time management
- Commercially aware with sound judgement in pricing decisions
Experience Required
- 3+ years’ experience in estimating within civil, mining, or haulage sectors
- Strong background in civil construction, cost estimation, or quantity surveying
- Experience using estimating software and advanced Excel skills
- Experience developing and maintaining cost models
- Exposure to tendering processes and pricing strategies
Qualifications (Desirable)
- Qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying
- Certificate IV in Civil Construction or Building Project Support (Estimator)
