It commenced operations in 1961 and is one of the oldest coal mining operations in Central Queensland with no signs of slowing down. Dawson Mine is rich in history, it was the first mine in Australia to export coal to Japan in 1961 and was the first mine to introduce draglines into its operation in 1963 – join the legacy today! Job Description:Dawson Mine is excited to announce a rare opportunity for a Commercial Officer to join the CHPP team at Dawson Mine on a full-time, permanent basis with Anglo American.
Reporting to the CHPP Manager, you will assist in maintaining cost control planning, raising of Request for Contracts and Purchase Orders (VAFs), and any other change management documentation. You will also be liaising with Commercial teams to ensure invoice payment to vendors/suppliers is timely and accurate and adheres to the respective contract arrangements.The key accountabilities are, but not limited to:Compiling and submitting overtime dataSupporting the CHPP team with training requirementsManage day 2 onboarding for all CHPP inducteesSupport contract holders through all stages of the commercial contracting process. Provide administrative support to CHPP Manager and CHPP superintendents in day-to-day activities (ie LEAN board updates, VFL tracking, general administrative tasks etc) Track performance and status for all contracts and provide a monthly report on the status of all contracts to key stakeholders. Provide strategic advice and services to the workforce in regards to contracting and procurement processes. Identify and syndicate opportunities to increase the efficiency or effectiveness of CHPP commercial services workMonitoring of contractor cash-flows, providing accurate reports of progress, variance to plan, root causes and remedial actions.
