MLG Oz is seeking an experienced Chef to join our Kalgoorlie team!

Shift Times

Breakfast: 2:30am – 12:30pm
Dinner: 11:00am – 9:00pm

📍 This is a residential Kalgoorlie-based role — FIFO is not available.

The Role

Reporting to the Accommodation Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals for 65+ personnel every day.

You’ll play a key role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly, including:

• Preparing and cooking breakfast or dinner meals
• Planning and organising menus
• Catering for dietary requirements and preferences
• Maintaining excellent food quality, presentation and consistency
• Managing stock, ordering and food wastage
• Maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and efficient
• Supporting the team through busy meal service periods
• Cleaning and sanitising equipment and work areas

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
• Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Previous experience in bulk catering or high-volume kitchens
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude and strong team spirit
• Pride in producing quality food consistently

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Australian Citizenship or unrestricted Australian working rights
• National Police Clearance issued within the last 6 months, or willingness to obtain
