About the Company
Spotless is subcontracted to Secure Journeys, responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, culturally diverse meals that support the overall health and well-being of individuals within the centre. The Melbourne Immigration Detention Centre is located at Broadmeadows, VIC.
About the Role
We’re seeking dedicated Catering Assistants who take pride in delivering high-quality food and service. The successful candidate must have a Certificate II or higher in Commercial Cookery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in assembling, preparing, and producing meals as directed by the Chef Manager or Head Chef.
- Maintain cleanliness across food preparation and dining areas, including equipment and utensils.
- Adhere to the HACCP Food Safety Plan by upholding food safety and hygiene standards, completing all documentation accurately and on time.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and ensure it remains clean and well-maintained.
About You / Requirements
- Certificate II in Kitchen Operations (or higher) - Mandatory
- Valid Food Safety Certificates
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee) - Mandatory
- Prior experience in a commercial kitchen setting
- Sound knowledge of HACCP Food Safety guidelines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal abilities
- Australian Federal Police Check and medical assessment is a part of the selection process for this role.
