Our client is a government department delivering reliable building, maintenance, and construction services across North West Queensland.

Your New Role

We are seeking a trade-qualified Carpenter to work across government buildings. This role focuses on repairs, maintenance, and small-scale projects rather than large new builds.

You will work across a variety of sites, carrying out maintenance tasks, ensuring properties are well-kept, adhering to safety procedures, and occasionally mentoring apprentices.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general carpentry repairs and maintenance on government properties
• Complete small-scale construction projects and upgrades
• Identify faults and perform timely maintenance work
• Ensure all work is completed in line with safety standards and regulations
• Work collaboratively within a team environment
• Provide guidance and support to apprentices when required

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Trade qualification in Carpentry
• Solid experience within domestic construction environments
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices
• Confidence using technology such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, tablets, or handheld devices
• Current Construction Industry White Card
• Valid Queensland “C” class driver’s licence
• Full working rights in Australia
• Working knowledge of current WHS and environmental legislation and codes of practice
