Our Tier 1 Mining Client is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support a growing AI program within a large, complex organisation.

Roster: 5/2 - Perth CBD Location

Start date: ASAP

Duration: approx. 6 months - with potential to extend

Pay Rate: Starting from $65.00 p/h + Super depending on experience

The Role

This is a commercially focused role supporting the assessment, governance and delivery of AI initiatives. You will work across business cases, investment decisions, governance, benefits realisation and program support, partnering with a range of senior stakeholders.

You will play a key role in ensuring AI initiatives are well considered, commercially sound and aligned with strategic priorities.

We are looking for a commercially minded Business Analyst who can operate confidently across business cases, governance and program delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting the development of business cases for AI initiatives
• Reviewing and assessing business cases, including costs, benefits, risks, resources, timelines and dependencies
• Providing constructive commercial challenge to proposals and recommendations
• Tracking approved initiatives against agreed business cases, budgets, outcomes and benefits
• Supporting AI program governance frameworks, processes and approval pathways
• Coordinating governance forums and steering committees, including agendas, papers, minutes, actions and decision records
• Reviewing initiatives against financial, operational, legal, risk, cybersecurity, privacy, data and responsible-AI requirements
• Providing PMO support across stakeholder coordination, action tracking, documentation, process improvement and assurance activities

Required Experience

• Demonstrated experience developing and/or reviewing business cases
• Strong commercial and analytical capability
• Experience assessing costs, benefits, risks and value-realisation assumptions
• Experience supporting governance forums, steering committees or investment decision-making
• Strong PMO, reporting and stakeholder coordination skills
• The ability to challenge assumptions and provide sound commercial advice
• Experience working across technology, digital, data, transformation or AI initiatives will be highly regarded
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality papers and communicate with senior stakeholders
