Description & Requirements

As a Paint & Blaster you'll be preparing and finishing surfaces by sandblasting, cleaning, and applying protective coatings or paints on various structures. The works will be in Karratha and Tom Price, with opportunity for rostered and non-rostered works.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Cleaning surfaces prior to and after surface preparation to specification
• Mixing paint according to instructions. Selecting and preparing paints to required colours by mixing portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives
• Use of hand tools, such as: paint brushes; rollers; sanding blocks; wallpaper cutters; trimming knives; and fillers and spatulas
• Ensure protective coatings are applied using brush, roller, and spray equipment.
• Applying paints to surfaces using all forms of brushes and roller nap types, using appropriate techniques to minimise drips, runs, and brush marks, and to maintain straight edges
• Ensure all finished coatings have been verified and inspected after coating has been completed
• Ensure all coatings complies with standards and specifications that meets Industry, Customer, and Business System requirements

What you’ll bring:

• Trade Certificate or ability to pass a painting VOC
• Working at Heights, Confined Space (within 3 years)
• Basic Fire (within 4 years)
• White Card
• Australian Drivers License
• Proof of Right to Work in Australia
• Point of hire: Perth, or local Karratha/Tom Price
