The Role

SRG Global Mining Services is looking for skilled Blast Crew members to join our long-term Cowal project. You’ll be working with a professional team that values clear communication, safety, and efficiency - backed by competitive pay, modern equipment, and industry-leading facilities.

Full-time position available. FIFO from Perth. 7 / 7 day shift only

The Blast Crew plays a crucial role in enabling productive mining or construction operations through expert handling of explosive materials and meticulous adherence to operational guidelines.

This role ensures the precise execution of drilling and blasting activities to facilitate the extraction of minerals or construction of infrastructure while adhering to strict safety standards and minimizing environmental impact

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting drill & blast operations to meet production targets safely
• Conducting blast hole QA checks and inspections
• Setting up exclusion zones and signage for safe blasting
• Loading blast holes with explosives and stemming material
• Assisting the Shotfirer with charging and tie-in activities
• Performing pre- and post-blast inspections
• Following all site-specific and statutory safety protocols
• Operating machinery and maintaining equipment in safe condition

The successful applicant will ideally have

• C Class Drivers Licence (Manual)
• Security Clearance
• Ability to perform labouring duties
• Good communication and organisational skills, with an emphasis on teamwork
• Pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol assessment

Desirables

• Heavy Rigid (HR) Drivers Licence
• Blasting User Explosive Licence
• Blast Crew experience
• Local to West Wyalong and surrounding areas
