With continued growth across our operations, we are seeking a motivated Asset Accountant to join our team and support the financial management of our extensive asset portfolio.

Your new role

Reporting to the Head of Asset Accounting and Commercial, you will play a key role in supporting the financial management, reporting, and control of assets across our maintained hire operations.

Working closely with our Asset Management, Finance, and Operational teams, you will assist in maintaining the fixed asset register, processing asset transactions, and supporting month-end and reporting processes across the full asset lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, transfers, and adjustments
  • Supporting capitalisation processes, including WIP to CAP transfers
  • Processing asset transactions such as disposals, write-downs, and equipment movements
  • Assisting with depreciation calculations (units of production and straight-line)
  • Performing reconciliations between the general ledger and asset sub-ledger
  • Supporting month-end processes, including journals, accruals, and preliminary depreciation analysis
  • Assisting with capital expenditure tracking against approved budgets
  • Preparing asset, capex, and depreciation reports
  • Liaising with operations and maintenance teams to validate asset movements
  • Supporting audit requirements and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor of Commerce/Accounting
  • Working towards (or willingness to commence) CA or CPA
  • 1–3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Basic understanding of fixed asset accounting principles
  • Exposure to ERP systems (e.g. JDE/Oracle) desirable
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
