About the Role

Reporting to the Team Lead, Inventory Management & Logistics, as the Material Planning Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely availability of materials to support planned and unplanned maintenance activities across Newmont's Australian operations. Working at the intersection of Asset Management and Supply Chain, you will validate material demand, monitor supply risks and drive actions that ensure maintenance schedules can be executed safely and efficiently.

This is a highly collaborative and operationally focused role where you will leverage SAP MRP to manage material requirements, optimise inventory performance and provide visibility of material risks across the business. You will work closely with site-based maintenance, planning and supply chain teams to ensure critical materials are available when and where they are needed, while balancing inventory efficiency and cost.

As a key link between operations and supply chain, you will support planning and scheduling activities, coordinate expediting efforts, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance material planning processes and inventory outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Act as the primary interface between Asset Management and Supply Chain for maintenance-related material requirements.
  • Provide meaningful reporting and insights on material availability, supply risk and planning performance to support informed operational decision-making.
  • Participate in planning and scheduling meetings to understand upcoming work scopes and material demand, and drive actions to ensure material readiness
  • Review and manage SAP MRP outputs, including validating maintenance demand, monitoring exception messages and adjusting planned orders to align material availability with operational requirements.
  • Identify potential material shortages, supply constraints and delivery risks, coordinating mitigation and expediting activities where required.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Warehousing and suppliers to resolve supply issues and manage lead-time risks.
  • Analyse inventory performance and support initiatives to optimise stock holdings while maintaining service levels and operational readiness.
  • Partner with Inventory Control to maintain effective planning parameters, including lead times, reorder points and inventory settings.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across material planning, inventory management and supply chain processes.

About You

You are a proactive and analytical supply chain professional with a strong understanding of maintenance-driven material planning and inventory management. You thrive in operational environments where balancing inventory performance, material availability, and business requirements is critical to success. Naturally curious and solutions-focused, you enjoy solving complex supply challenges and using data-driven insights to support operational outcomes.

You bring strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, enabling you to build trusted partnerships and influence outcomes across multiple functions. With a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities, you remain organised and effective in fast-paced environments.

Your analytical mindset allows you to interpret planning data, identify trends, and make informed material and inventory planning decisions that support operational efficiency. Experience coordinating activities across multiple sites will be highly regarded, along with the ability to navigate changing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on service delivery and continuous improvement.

You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in material planning, inventory management or materials coordination within mining, heavy industry, manufacturing or a similar operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance material requirements and end-to-end supply chain processes.
  • Demonstrated experience working with SAP MRP, including planned orders, exception messages and material planning activities.
  • Ability to assess supply and demand requirements and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Exposure to mining operations, including Fixed Plant or Mobile Equipment environments, is advantageous.

This position is offered on a Monday to Friday basis. Due to the highly collaborative nature of the role and regular engagement with site stakeholders, the preferred location is Orange, NSW, or the surrounding region, although Perth will also be considered.

This opportunity is best suited to candidates with unrestricted Australian working rights who are seeking to build a long-term career with Newmont.
