Alternate Underground Manager
Looking to lead in one of Australia’s premier gold mining operations? This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an Alternate Underground Manager to join our high performing Underground team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership support to operational and technical teams to execute the mining plan safely and effectively.
- Control, manage, and supervise the operational and technical services team, including external mining contractors.
- Prepare forecasts and develop mining strategy with assistance from the geology department and planning teams.
- Manage the underground technical team to produce plans and designs in line with the mining schedule.
- Champion a safety-first culture by proactively identifying and mitigating mining risks.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to seek out mining improvements.
To Thrive in This Role, You’ll Need: Experience: At least 3 years of underground mine management experience. Proven leadership and communication skills. Extensive knowledge of the Mining Work Health and Safety Regulations. High-level project and cost management skills. Qualifications: WA Underground First Class Mine Managers Certificate, Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent, Current "C" Class Western Australian Driver's Licence.
Work Arrangement: The position can be either FIFO from Perth or residential in Kalgoorlie.
Roster Type: 8/6 Eligibility: Must meet pre-employment criteria, including medical and police check. Northern Star is committed to a diverse workforce.
