About the Role
Lead the future of mining operations through cutting-edge automation technology.
We are seeking an experienced Supervisor – Automation Project to oversee field operations during testing, commissioning and deployment of autonomous vehicle technology within a large-scale mining environment. This role is suited to a strong frontline leader with a background in mining operations, heavy haulage, road trains, automation, or technology-driven operational change.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily field activities for technical teams and safety personnel
- Coordinate testing and commissioning activities involving autonomous vehicle systems
- Monitor operational performance and respond to hazards, incidents and technical issues
- Ensure compliance with site safety systems, procedures and statutory requirements
- Facilitate communication between technical specialists, operations, maintenance and site stakeholders
- Support incident investigations, hazard reporting and safety initiatives
- Coordinate access, logistics and issue resolution across multiple workgroups
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, reliability and operational efficiency
About You
You will be a hands-on leader with a strong operational background and the ability to manage teams within complex mining environments.
Essential Experience
- Extensive leadership experience within mining, heavy industry or automation environments
- Proven experience supervising operational or field-based teams
- Strong understanding of safety, risk management and incident response
- Experience managing crews across rotating shifts and remote operations
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and contractors
- Exposure to technology implementation, automation projects or operational change programs
Desirable
- Trade, mining, operational or safety qualification
- Experience with autonomous haulage, autonomous vehicles or road train operations
- Exposure to commissioning, operational readiness or systems integration activities
- Knowledge of statutory mining requirements and safe work systems
