About the Role
The intern will participate in the various stages of problem solving to develop, manage and complete small projects and will be assigned various drawing tasks. They will contribute to the improvement of parts and mechanisms of mechanical equipment. They will review technical data of mechanical design drawings such as bills of materials, materials and references. The intern will need to perform measurements and data collection. They will develop and design solutions for the tasks assigned. They will document the work they perform. They will work in collaboration with the plant project engineer and design service drafters for internal client needs, i.e., production, reliability and mechanical maintenance.
Responsibilities include, among others:
- Data collection, on-site measurements, problem definition, research and documentation review to develop solutions to be implemented.
- Correction of bills of materials, dimensions, tolerances and technical data of drawings.
- Develop and design parts and mechanisms and prepare them for production drawings.
- Technical support.
- Support to engineering projects, notably for budget approval requests.
The candidate must have at least knowledge in the following areas: Metrology, materials and hardware, design and project management.
Profile sought:
- Be a full-time bachelor student in mechanical engineering and return to studies after the internship period;
- Have a DEC in mechanical design or experience in drawing is an asset;
- Be autonomous, enjoy teamwork and have an analytical mind;
- Have strong oral and written communication skills;
- Have an interest in manufacturing drawings and design;
- Know how to use AutoCAD (2D), AutoCAD Mechanical (2D), Inventor (3D), Excel;
- Prioritise health and safety for themselves and colleagues in the workplace;
- Level: S2, S3
