Boddington is a flagship Newmont gold and copper operation in Western Australia, located approximately 130 kilometres south-east of Perth and 16 kilometres from the rural town of Boddington. Your Role – Advisor, Health & Safety
As an Advisor, Health & Safety, you will play an important role in supporting Newmont's commitment to an Always Safe workplace. Working closely with operational leaders, employees and contractors, you will provide practical health and safety guidance, facilitate risk management activities and help drive continuous improvement across site.
You will be a visible safety leader, influencing positive behaviours and ensuring our workforce has the tools, knowledge and support required to work safely every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections, safety interactions and workplace audits to identify hazards and support effective risk management.
- Deliver safety coaching, mentoring and training to site personnel and leaders.
- Facilitate and support risk assessments, event reporting processes and incident investigations, including root cause analysis methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with Newmont safety standards, procedures and legislative requirements.
- Collaborate with operational teams on fatality risk management programs, injury prevention initiatives and health and wellbeing activities.
- Support frontline leaders to improve safety performance, workforce engagement and risk ownership.
- Coordinate occupational health and safety representative programs and related site initiatives.
- Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of Health & Safety Management Systems.
- Support assurance, verification and compliance activities across site.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a Health & Safety Advisor or similar role within mining, heavy industry, resources or a high-risk operational environment.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation, risk management principles and incident investigation processes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Experience facilitating safety training, coaching and workforce engagement programs.
- A proactive approach to hazard identification, problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent qualification (preferred).
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
