Cameby Downs is a small open-cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin of southern Queensland, managed by Yancoal and positioned between Chinchilla and Miles. Our site employs around 260 dedicated personnel who are committed to fostering a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be part of a dynamic and motivated team, playing an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the mine. This position requires the delivery of effective administrative support while ensuring compliance with Cameby Downs Safety & Health Management Systems and relevant Queensland Coal Mining legislation.
• Provide general administrative support to the operations team
• Manage incoming calls, emails and correspondence in a professional and timely manner
• Maintain accurate records, databases and filing systems
• Coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements
• Assist with data entry, reporting and document preparation
• Provide administrative support across various departments as required

Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria

• Basic experience working in an administrative role
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Sound awareness of workplace risk and ability to identify hazards
• Ability to follow instructions
• Proven ability to work independently

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience using SAP Systems
• Generic Surface Induction (Standard 11)
• Current QLD Driver’s licence
• Business Administration qualifications
