Our Opportunity

Work Location: Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

Roster: 4 Days / 3 Off plus shutdown coverage  (some nightshift required during shut periods) FIFO ex Perth or Residentially located in Port Hedland

Reporting to the Line Shutdown Coordinator, this position offers a key leadership role for our Port Shutdown execution team. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the shutdown readiness, execution and close out processes, but with particular focus on task scoping, developing methodologies, schedule reviews and overseeing areas during execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementing role deliverables as identified in shutdown readiness tracker.
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that shutdown work scopes are well planned, scheduled and resourced.
  • Providing leadership and direction to large contractor groups during maintenance shutdown periods, ensuring safe execution of work and compliance to shutdown schedules.
  • Implementation of shutdown improvement projects.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience within the fixed plant maintenance / shutdowns industry.
  • Engineering or trade qualification highly desirable, candidates with significant conveyor maintenance experience also highly regarded.
  • High level communication skills with ability to engage effectively with internal and external parties.
  • Competent user of maintenance management systems – SAP & Microsoft Project
  • Previous scheduling experience with MSP or other programs highly regarded.
  • Ability to develop quality risk assessments, CRAW, JHA, SWMS, etc
  • Demonstrated high level of leadership skills, particularly in high intensity environment.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with other departments to achieve objectives, team oriented.
  • Proven commitment to principles of safety and zero harm
