Project Engineer - Fixed Plant & Pipelines

Our client is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join a high-performing Operational Projects team on an initial 12-month fixed term contract, with potential for extension.
Roster: 5/2 - Perth CBD Location
Start date: June 2026
Duration: approx. 12 months - depending on client requirements
Pay Rate: $85.00 p/h
Please note that only people with relevant experience will be considered.
The Role:
This role is ideally suited to a Mechanical Project Engineer or someone with a strong mechanical/pipeline background who enjoys working across multidisciplinary brownfield projects in a fast-paced operational environment.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop scopes of work for multidisciplinary operational projects
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure operational requirements are achieved
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors and consultants to obtain technical, cost and schedule inputs
- Manage project budgets, forecasting and reporting activities
- Support interface management between design teams, contractors and stakeholders
- Work closely with project scheduling teams to maintain delivery timelines
- Assist with project transition from approval phase into execution
- Ensure all activities are completed safely and in line with company standards and values
The ideal candidate will hold the following:
- Degree qualified in Engineering or related discipline
- Extensive Project Engineering experience within mining, resources or heavy industry
- Strong background in fixed plant and/or pipeline projects
- Experience managing detailed design and multidisciplinary project interfaces
- Sound understanding of project controls including budgeting, forecasting and scheduling
- Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving capability
- Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder engagement skills
- Project Management qualifications or training highly regarded
