Civil Designer - Rail & Mining Infrastructure

Our client is looking for an experienced Civil Designer to join a high-performing project team delivering major rail, road, and mining infrastructure works across a large-scale international resources project.
Roster: 5/2 - Perth CBD Location
Start date: June 2026
Duration: approx. 12 months - depending on client requirements
Pay Rate: $75.00 p/h
Please note that only people with relevant experience will be considered.
The Role:
Working closely with the Lead Civil Designer, you will play a key role in delivering detailed civil designs for rail corridors, access roads, bulk earthworks, drainage, and associated mining infrastructure using 12d Model and MicroStation. Similar industry roles commonly focus on rail infrastructure, earthworks, haul roads, and multidisciplinary mining project delivery.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop detailed civil designs and 3D models using 12d Model and MicroStation
- Produce construction-ready drawings and design documentation
- Complete quantity calculations and material take-offs
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Ensure compliance with project standards and design criteria
- Support design reviews, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery activities
- Participate in occasional site travel as required
The ideal candidate will hold the following**:**
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in civil design within mining, rail, or infrastructure projects
- Strong capability in 12d Model and MicroStation
- Experience delivering rail, road, and bulk earthworks designs
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
